The Vermont Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Northeast Kingdom Chamber of Commerce, is proud to host a nonpartisan, statewide civics competition as part of the 2025 National Civics Bee®. The top 10 students will advance to the Vermont State Finals, held at the Barre Opera House on June 25, 2025, from 4:30 – 6:30 PM. Finalists will compete in a dynamic event featuring civics quiz rounds and a live Q&A session that showcases their knowledge of American democracy and governance. By encouraging the next generation to get involved, the Bee helps lay the groundwork for a more informed, connected, and civically active Vermont. This event is free to attend. 

The competition, modeled on traditional spelling and geography bees, gives students the chance to win recognition and earn cash prizes by sharing ideas for improving their communities and showing their enthusiasm for civics. The winner of the National Civics Bee® Vermont State Finals will receive a trip to Washington, DC to compete in the National Civics Bee® national championship in Fall 2025.
