Join us on June 25, 2025, from 4:30–6:30 PM at the Barre Opera House for the Vermont State Finals of the National Civics Bee®, hosted by the Vermont Chamber in partnership with the U.S. Chamber Foundation and Northeast Kingdom Chamber. The top 10 middle school finalists will compete in quiz rounds and a live Q&A to showcase their civics knowledge. This free event celebrates civic engagement and the next generation of informed Vermonters. In collaboration with the Barre Partnership, the first 75 attendees will receive a $10 meal voucher to use at any food truck in Currier Park.

The competition, modeled on traditional spelling and geography bees, gives students the chance to win recognition and earn cash prizes by sharing ideas for improving their communities and showing their enthusiasm for civics. The winner of the National Civics Bee® Vermont State Finals will receive a trip to Washington, DC to compete in the National Civics Bee® national championship in Fall 2025.
