The Vermont Government Affairs Team

The Vermont Chamber Government Affairs Team is on the job in Montpelier, analyzing, evaluating, and advocating on behalf of the business community for a vibrant economy. With decades of experience working with Governors, lawmakers, state and federal officials, the Vermont Chamber Government Affairs Team has the knowledge and the relationships to make a real difference on the issues that matter most to you.

Issues

The Vermont Chamber recognizes the importance of working with lawmakers and government officials at both the state and federal levels in order to achieve employers’ primary economic development initiatives. We develop these policy positions by gathering input through our annual member survey and our statewide issue forums and using the guidance of our Government Affairs Committee and Board of Directors.

Legislative Successes

The items outlined in this document were initiated and/or supported through the work of the Vermont Chamber four-person advocacy team.  Email govaffairs@vtchamber.com if you have any questions.

Statewide Issues Forums

Are businesses in your area growing and adding jobs? Are policy leaders in Montpelier helping or adding to the burden? To help businesses garner a better understanding of recent legislation and what to expect during the next legislative session, the Vermont Chamber will be conducting its annual Legislative Forums tour across the state every Fall. These forums are a great opportunity to learn about the issues and understand how to impact the outcome.

Business Agenda

This document is intended to provide our legislative leaders and state officials with an overview of the Vermont Chamber of Commerce’s policy positions, as developed by our Government Affairs Committee and approved by our Board of Directors.
