ServSafe Classes
The Vermont Chamber ServSafe classes are sponsered by Efficiency Vermont. Learn how to save energy (and money) in your commercial kitchen!
Through our partnership with the National Restaurant Association and its educational Foundation, the Vermont Chamber presents monthly ServSafe trainings and exams. Recommended in Vermont, ServSafe is a day-long class to train and certify restaurant/foodservice employees on the basics of food safety. The ServSafe Certificate is valid for five years. Foodservice organizations recommended for ServSafe Certification include:
- Restaurants
- Catering businesses
- Convenience stores/delis
- Bars that serve food
- Nursing homes
- Hospitals Disaster relief agencies
- Technical centers and schools
Vermont Chamber members save $50 off the registration fee. Members also receive 10% off ServSafe and Prostart books and materials ordered through the Chamber.

CoolJobs
The Vermont Chamber partnered with the Vermont Departments of Labor and Education to study the hospitality workforce in Vermont. The results were twofold. A website called "CoolJobs" was launched, to build public awareness or the career opportunities offered by the tourism industry, and to provide individuals and educational leaders information about the benefits of choosing hospitality careers. In addition, a report entitled "Work. Play. Live" was published in July 2011. The report summarizes industry outreach initiatives and educational programs, provides evidence of the importance of the tourism economy to Vermont, and makes recommendations to grow Vermont's hospitality industry and workforce in the travel and recreation sector.
