How do you support the children of a soldier? What adjustments do families face when military personnel leave or return home? If you’ve never lived a military life, then how might you connect with – and counsel – veterans and their families?
UVM Continuing Education, in partnership with the University’s College of Education and Social Services, offers a flexible, online program of three graduate courses designed to help educators, counselors, social workers, volunteers and others who support military personnel and their families.
You'll hear key concepts from each instructor in the three-course series along with information from Vice President for Enrollment Management, Chris Lucier, regarding UVM supports for our student veterans.
Presented by:
Aaron Kindsvatter, EDCO instructor who took the lead in creating the three syllabi for the Military Support courses.
Col. Phillip Murdock (Ret), who will speak about his course "Military Culture"
Tamara Thompson, MSW, LCSW, who will speak about her course "Transitional Issues for Military Families"
Elizabeth Goldstein, Ph.D, who will speak about her course "Military Deployment: Psychological Issues"
