According to the Economic Impact on Civil Aviation on the U.S. Economy study done by the FAA in December 2009, the economic impact of civil aviation alone for the state of Vermont includes:
$999,609,827 in economic output
$257,573,811 in earnings
9,369 jobs
Aviation and Aerospace combined represent a $2 billion industry in Vermont. To capitalize on this market opportunity, the Vermont Chamber’s Aerospace and Aviation Association (VAAA), founded in 2006, a division of the Vermont Chamber, chaired by VAAA Chair Brian Dubie, ASA, Co. US AF, 78th Lt. Governor, US dept. of Commerce International Trade Advisory Committee and Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy, Honorary VAAA Chair, is committed to promoting economic growth and job creation in aerospace, aviation and related manufacturing sectors of Vermont’s economy.
