Transportation

The Vermont Chamber recognizes the essential role of a safe and dependable transportation system. Our advocacy team believes the use of transportation funds for areas other than construction, maintenance, and repairs jeopardizes economic growth.

The Vermont Chamber supports the following:

  • The use of transportation fund revenues being used strictly for projects directly related to the source of revenues;
  • The recognition that Vermont is highly dependent on a variety of transportation systems that are user-funded and economically viable; and
  • Improvements and immediate repairs to existing roadways and bridges to major routes affected by Tropical Storm Irene with a focus on the major arteries that facilitate the transfer of goods for the purpose of commerce.
