Support the F-35A
Vermont Air National Guard!
The United States Air Force (USAF) has identified the Vermont Air National Guard (VTANG) based in Burlington, VT as one of two preferred alternative operational bases for the F-35A Joint Strike Fighter, which will replace the legacy and aging F-16s. The Vermont Air National Guard and our Green Mountain Boys have a world renowned reputation and tradition of flying at the Burlington International Airport since July 1st, 1946 and serving to protect our country at home and abroad.
Selection by the USAF and investment would continue a proud 66 year tradition of the VTANG and show an unprecedented level of support and confidence in the VTANG. The new fleet of F-35s would also secure the future of VTANG for the next 3-4 decades and ensure key economic benefits.
Key Economic Reasons to Base the F-35A in Vermont:
WE NEED YOUR VOICE AND STATEWIDE SUPPORT!
Even though the official comment period for the F-35 Environmental Impact Study (EIS) has ended, the local debate in Chittenden County continues. This is not just a local opportunity; it’s a statewide opportunity with statewide implications if the VTANG is not selected to base the F-35.
PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION, JOIN WITH YOUR STATEWIDE VERMONT CHAMBER COMMUNITY AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT OF THE VTANG AND THE F-35!
