VAAA Open House: Greening Aviation & Soaring High in Rutland


The Vermont Chamber's Aerospace and Aviation Association (VAAA) held its August 19 VAAA Open House Event at the Southern Vermont Regional Airport in Rutland. 

Sponsored by GE Aviation of Rutland, this high-profile event featured greening aviation and the important and growing role that GE Aviation Rutland plays in the production of the GEnx engine, which will be used to power the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and the 747-8 with greater gains in fuel efficiency and performance. 

This event was attended by 165 people from over 100 companies and government agencies. The event also celebrated the Rutland Southern Vermont Regional Airport and the work to upgrade the facilities by Senator Leahy, Congressman Welch and the Rutland Regional Chamber of Commerce.
