Stenger has been President and Chief Operating Officer at Jay Peak Resort since 1985. He has focused on growing the resort into a destination for Vermonters and people worldwide as a source of fun, sport and relaxation. Stenger has transformed the remote ski area to a premier resort; socially and economically benefiting the surrounding towns, as well as the state of Vermont.
Tickets to the Citizen of the Year banquet are $65 per person and include hors d’oeuvres, a plated dinner and an opportunity to toast Bill for his many contributions to and accomplishments in the state of Vermont. Tables of eight are also available.
The growth of Jay Peak was possible due to Stenger's championship of the EB-5 foreign investor program. This initiative has attracted capital investment to the state, at a time when investment opportunities are in short supply. Beyond drawing capital and growth to the Jay area, Stenger has served on a myriad of charitable boards such as the Next Generation Commission, the Travel and Recreation Council, Vermont Ski Areas Association and the North Country Hospital. Additionally, he has worked to promote opportunity and prosperity for people and businesses in Vermont, working tirelessly on tax policy and state regulations. His dedication to the state of Vermont is evident, with each commitment Stenger brings his entrepreneurial spirit, his savvy business skills and his sense of humor.
